I Heart Huckabees Director David O. Russell Goes Nuts
This video was too good not to post! This director goes absolutely insane! Keep watch near the end where someone on the set starts waving the crew off the set, and a mass exodus incurs. Too funny!!

Dako's...Dako's...Dako's!!!
What is a Dako? It's a Cretan Bread Salad with tomatoes, a cretan sheepsmilk cheese called "mizithra" (the best way to describe this cheese is like a less pungent taste of feta cheese and the creamy texture of goat cheese), salt, pepper, oregano topped with olive oil, all atop a piece of bread called a paximathi. A paximathi is a spiced bread thats been baked till it's hard inside and out. Before you eat it in this salad you have to dunk the bread in some water to soften it up. This is practically a daily staple of my summer trips to Greece.

New...stuff...life...circumstances
I never make New Years resolutions. I think they're just a set up for failure. I do, however, set a goal or 2 for myself. This year I think I set one goal for myself. FIND A NEW JOB!!!
As of 9:30am, Monday, March 19, 2007, I am another step closer to achieving this goal. This morning I had coffee (in my case apple juice) with a recruiter from a suburban based company. I am very pleased with the results of this interview. The recruiter/potential new supervisor told me that I was her top candidate and that she expected to offer me the job by the beginning of April. I am very excited for the possibility to work at a smaller company. But, then again, any company is smaller than the behemouth company I work for! This comes at a time when I am making many changes in my life...
Last week, I had my family room painted, which I have been wanting to do for years! With that, I purchased new drapes and furniture has been ordered. I think that when you really need a change in your life it just pours down on you! I took a small step to make life better and in return a shower of options have flooded my life. Hopefully, all for the better...

It's still a work in progress...

Quest for the Holy Grail...
Work Life...
The past several months I have intensively looking for new employment. It has seemed like an endless stream of job postings, phone screens, pre screens, phone interviews, meetings and face-to-face interviews. (big sigh here...) This evening, I had, what I thought was, another, in a long line of phone interviews. (insert another big sigh here too) Well, let me just say that this was the best phone interview yet! I'm actually excited about this company and the possibility of working there.
As anyone knows, when looking for a job in "the corporate world," it's really not what's on your resume and what past experience you have had, it's really about whether the company likes you and your personality. They know basically any idiot can do the job and they wouldn't have called you if they didn't think you could do the job. They need people to mesh well with their company environment. I actually felt on this phone interview that they were trying to convince me to picture myself in the position. Usually, it's the other way around, you trying to have them picture you in the position.
Needless to say, I am having a dinner interview with this recruiter sometime next week and I am very excited at the opportunity to meet her and learn more about the company. I don't want to jinx myself so I will stop right here.

Intro...
Welcome to my first official blog on Blogger.com. I've decided, with help from a good friend, that I should start blogging on blogger.com. As some of you may know, I've been blogging on Myspace and lately, have been lagging on that because access is extremely limited from work. I've also been told that this is a much easier forum to post on, so here it is...and we're off!
For many years now, I've been mulling the idea of writing a book about my adventures or should I say misadventures of being a commuter. I hope that this blog can one day turn into that book.
Working in the city and living in the suburbs leaves me to battle the wonderful world of "the daily commute." So, I plan on fashioning this blog around circumstances that happen to me while I commute, my work life in the city, my leisure life in the city and home/leisure life in the burbs. As with every piece of writing I have many ideas on how I would like this blog to be formatted, daily quips, stories and so forth, hopefully there will be a recurring storyline every so often. So, this blog should be ever changing (hopefully for the better) work of non-fiction. I hope you enjoy and feel free to comment on whatever you want!
