Too Racy?

What are you looking at?
Greece has a high number of auto accidents. These high numbers have prompted concerned citizens and the government to take a second look at billboards. Would this billboard cause you to take your eyes off the road?

The Big "O"

A friend of mine told me this story, I couldn't help but re-tell it here...

My friend Charlene* has been seeing a new guy, his name is Ryan*. They have been dating for about a month or so. If you don't know this by now, girls tell each other everything. So, for the past few weeks I have been hearing about Ryan and their dates, I also met Ryan 2 weeks ago at a BBQ he had at his place. I KNOW my friend Charlene and I know that she's not really "into" this guy. He's very nice, gentle kind of person and would like nothing better than to make Charlene happy. But there is no passion in their relationship, the way she explains it, everything is just "OK".

So, Charlene was telling me that she was talking to her dad about her relationship with Ryan. Charlene's dad is a RIOT!! I love him!! So, she was telling her dad and brother about her ho-hum relationship. So, her dad reluctantly ask's about "the sex." He asked her how the sexing was and she reluctantly answers that it was o.k. Then he asks her if she had an "Organism" with Ryan (you can laugh here). And she replies, no. Then he asks her, how he was "south of the border." She stopped answering at this point.

As Father's Day is upon us, I couldn't help sharing this story with all 3 of my readers!! Thanks!!

*Names have been changed to protect the anonimity of my friends and their boyfriends.

The Starter Wife

I have a new television obsession...The Starter Wife! This does not replace my need for Veronica Mars, but it's good, clean bitchiness!! The Starter Wife is a 6 hour mini-series on the USA Cable Network. Adapted from Gigi Levangie Grazer's book of the same title. The story revolves around the life of Molly Kagen, a studio exec's wife or soon-to-be ex-wife.

The premise of the story goes like this...

Molly is a devoted wife and partner to her husband, when one day he asks for a divorce. Her world is then turned upside down, she is henceforth snubbed by the Hollywood community and exiled to her best friend's Malibu beach house for the summer. In the meantime, her ex-husband, Kenny, is prancing around town with a Britany Spears like hooch, Shoshanna. Her best friend, Joan, is forced into rehab by her puritan husband, her other best friend, Cricket, is forced to turn her back on Molly because her director husband, Jorge (pronounced, whore-hay, fitting huh?), has a movie in the works and can't have the studio executive mad. The only friend's Molly has left is her gay interior decorator, Rodney and the security guard at the gated community gate, Lavender.

All this drama wouldn't be complete if there weren't a love interest(s)for Molly. The first possibility is Lou Manahan, her ex-husband's boss. The second possibility, is the myterious stranger she see's on the beach, Sam. Now, here come the twists, Lou seems to be a troubled man, the last time we see him in the series, he's drunk, writing a letter and then wanders off to the beach and into the water. Sam, the more likely love interest for Molly, has a dubious past, it is revealed the Sam is homeless, and rely's on the kindness of an older woman in "The Colony" (the name of the gated community).

I don't want to give too much out, tune into USA Network, to see what happens next, or tune in to my blog for more updates!!!

So Long Veronica...

For several years now, I have been an active fan of the television show Veronica Mars. It started out simply enough 3 seasons ago with nothing else to watch so I tuned in to see what this show was about. I wasn't very interested in it at first but it held my interest long enough to see the plot unfold. This show is along the cult lines of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, neither of which I was a fan of.

First season's plot surrounded the death of
Veronica Mars' (Kristen Bell)best friend, Lily Kane (Amanda Seyfried). The difference in this show against other show's was that the mystery took all season to solve. So, each show solved a smaller mystery which gave clue's to the bigger mystery. Our protagonist, Veronica, although a high school student, is so sassy and witty that I look forward to hearing and seeing what she says/does next.

In the second season, new character's were introduced and a new mystery was revealed. This season's mystery revolved around a bus accident where a bomb was hidden on the bus and once the bomb exploded the bus went over a
cliff. This accident wouldn't hit so close to home if at one point, Veronica was on the bus, but was accidentally left at a gas station. Then, Meg Manning (Alona Tal), the ex-girlfriend of Veronica's boyfriend, Duncan Kane (Teddy Dunn) (yes, he's the 1st season's dead girl's brother) was on the bus that went over the cliff, in which she miraculously survived, only to linger in a coma 3/4's of the season, and when she awakes it is revealed that she is preganant with Duncan's child. She has the baby and then dies and in order to save the baby from the mother's religious zealot parents, Veronica's boyfriend kidnaps the child and moves somewhere, thus leaving the show.

In the third season, Veronica is now in college, the shows creator's decide that the season long mystery doesn't leave much room for new viewers. So, they decided to try 3 8-episode mystery arc's. The first mystery arc revolved
around a campus rapist, and every time he raped a girl he would shave her head. The second mystery arc revolved around the murder of the college dean, who was found dead in his office. The third arc never happened, the show went on hiatus for 8 weeks and when they came back they went to a 1 episode mystery. Then the season ended and the show is off to television heaven.

I will miss Veronica Mars. There are rumors that the show will turn into a comic book and there's a glimmer of hope that I will get my fix, somehow. Alas...VM will leave a gap...This show was clever! Plain and simple!!

Wonderful Day

Today was a wonderful weather day here in Chicago. Temps were in the low 90's and a solid breeze it was a great day to be out and about. Today at lunch a co-worker and I walked over to Daley Plaza where there was a farmers market going on and an ethnic food fest. My co-worker and I saw that there was an Italian Ice stand and we decided to head back over about 2pm for and afternoon ice. So, at 2pm we walked back over to Daley Plaza and I had the BEST Mango Gelato ever!! We walked over to the fountain took out shoes off and put our feet in the water while we ate our Gelato. It was a great few minutes out of the work day. There were children playing in the water, and my clumsy co-worker dropped her blue gelato and it splattered all over her legs and clothes. I only wish I had my camera!! But here are some pics that I found online.
