UPDATE...Adventures in Invisalign...

So, here are a few more updates on my quest for Invisalign. I've seen 2 more doctors in the last 2 days and I'm more confused than ever!!

Doctor 3:
Very nice lady, she has an office in the loop and in my home town. Oh, she is an Orthodontist. The first 2 doctors I saw were Dentists.
Treatment: She does NOT want to give me invisalign. Instead, she wants me to wear clear braces for 18 months. She says that clear braces would not only straighten out my teeth, but they would correct my bite. She would make room to straighten my teeth by widening the arch in my mouth, no teeth shaving or tooth removal. She also stated that if I went with Invisalign, that my teeth would probably revert to the way they are now. She also stated that she would have to put a permanent retainer behind my front teeth after treatment ends.
Duration: Clear Braces 18 months ----- Invisalign 12 months approx.
Price: A whopping $6,000 for Invisalign or Clear Braces

Doctor 4:
Incredibly hot guy, with a fabulous ass!! Va-Va-Va-Voom!!!!!! His initial consultation was the most thorough of ALL the dentists thus far. He took x-rays and did a small exam. He is an Orthodontist as well.
Treatment: He gave me several options, which I liked! Option 1: Correct my overbite with Invisalign. Option 2: Clear braces, this option has 2 different paths. Path 1: Remove 2 teeth to make room for my front teeth to be straightened out. Path 2: Shave a bit off each of my teeth to make room for my front teeth. At the end of treatment I would clear Invisalign like retainers at night.
Duration: Clear Braces - 18 Months ------ Invisalign 12 months approx.
Price: $5,100 - With some excellent payment options!!

Adventures in Invisalign...

I am gearing up to straighten out a couple of my teeth. So I have been talking to dentists and orthodontists regarding my teeth and Invisalign. I have spoken to 2 dentists and have 4 more consultations scheduled for Invisalign. Here is the consensus thus far...

Dentist 1:
Treatment: She would give me aligners just for my top teeth, and shave those teeth to make room to straighten out my teeth.
Duration: 1 Year
Price: $5,400

Dentist 2:
Treatment: Widen the arch of my upper teeth, creating space to move my teeth, thus widening my smile and giving me more upper lip support. No teeth shaving.
Duration: 5 Months
Price: $3,000 approx. (I don't have a set price yet)

I don't understand how these 2 opinions could be sooo different. I have several other appointments coming up, I will follow up here after each appointment. Hopefully, I can find what the real answer should be!

Remembering OXI Day...

Yesterday marked the 67th Anniversary of Oxi (pronounced O-hee) day. October 28, is celebrated throughout Greece, Επέτειος του «'Οχι», Anniversary of the "No") The story goes like this... (the following is from Wikipedia)

This ultimatum, which was presented to Metaxas by the Italian ambassador in Greece, Emanuele Grazzi, on October 28, 1940, at dawn (04:00 AM), after a party in the German embassy in Athens, demanded that Greece allow Axis forces to enter Greek territory and occupy certain unspecified "strategic locations" or otherwise face war. It was allegedly answered with a single word: όχι or no. Most scholars dismiss the use of the word 'Oxi' as an urban legend, claiming that the actual reply was the French phrase "Alors, c'est la guerre" ("Then it is war"). In response to Metaxas's refusal, Italian troops stationed in Albania, then an Italian protectorate, attacked the Greek border at 05:30 AM. Metaxas's reply marked the beginning of Greece's participation in World War II (see Greco-Italian War and Battle of Greece). On the morning of October 28th the Greek population took to the streets, irrespective of political affiliation, shouting 'okhi'. From 1942, it was celebrated as Oxi Day.

What do you do...

Ok, my friend told me about a situation she is having at work, I was going back and forth whether or not I should blog about it, but I decided to go ahead, it'll be a lesson for all of us. I never deny my public a chance to learn!!

My friend told me she found out that her boss wrote an unfavorable email about her to a co-worker. She doesn't mind very much, people fuck up all the time, it was just her turn to fuck up. But the thing that really pisses her off is that her boss wrote this email to one of her co-workers, and to boot this co-worker is not even a full time employee, she's a freakin' contractor for the company. What to do...what to do???

Her boss is out on vacation, she will be back on Monday, she'll have to take this up with her at that point in time...

At that time I will update of of you on the results...

Mission: Wait-A-While

So, here's the 411. I started dating this guy last month, let's call him Maytag Man or MM for short.

Our first date was great, great conversation, smart fella, easy to talk to and cute to boot!! We went for Sushi and drinks.

Our second date was 2 weeks later and went just as well if not better than outr first date. We went and saw Gipsy Kings at Ravinia, we danced and hung out with my friends Zhaleh & Yuriy. The weather wasn't very cooperative, but it made the night all that more interesting. You can tell a lot about people in semi-adverse situations. I saw no indications that he was displeased about the semi-rain out. Our second date was just over a month ago. Two days later I left for Greece for 4 weeks, as you may have previously read on my blog.

Now, I've been back for a couple of days now, and Maytag Man and I spent the whole weekend together. He came over on Friday night, we went dinner, then came back to my house to watch a movie. We hadn't planned much because I am still quite jet lagged. On Saturday, we decided to spend the day together. The morning started off with coffee at my local Starbucks, then we headed to Chicago to hang out at Lincoln Park Zoo. Yesterday was the perfect Zoo day. Spent time looking and talking about the animals and really getting to know each other. We walked through the zoo and came upon the lagoon where you can rent paddle boats. We rented a paddle boat and paddled around the lagoon for a while. It was really a terrific day!!

After the zoo, I took him to my turf. We went to Greek Town for a late lunch/early dinner. Maytag Man had never had Greek food before, so I decided I needed to take care of that. You can't date this Greek girl and not have ever eaten Greek food.

All in all, I had a great weekend with Maytag Man. I look forward to spending more time with him and getting to know him better.

Back from Outer Space

Yes, people I am back for your entertaining pleasure. I am not at all very coherent at this point as I am still quite jet lagged, but I am here to update you all on my recent European adventure. First and foremost, as per my last blog, I have cut down on my use of profanity, immensely! It helps being away from work!

My vacation went very well!! I didn't do a whole lot, just hung out with the family and went to the beach. My mother did a bit of corruption, as if I wasn't corrupt enough, she took me on some fig and orange "acquiring" adventures. (Videos below!) We raided fig and orange trees on other people's property. Of course, my mother knows these people and they don't mind if we help ourselves the a few pieces of fruit! Other than that, my vacation went smoothly.

There are some observations that I made while I was over there, and made note of that I will comment on in future blogs. So stay tuned!!
