Merry Christmas!!!
This weekend a bunch of us headed over to Wrigleyville in Chicago to attend the 12th Annual 12 Bars of Xmas. TBOX, as it is more lovingly referred to, was yet again a fantastic time. Here's a video short of the days activities...
So, here are a few more updates on my quest for Invisalign. I've seen 2 more doctors in the last 2 days and I'm more confused than ever!!
Doctor 3:
Very nice lady, she has an office in the loop and in my home town. Oh, she is an Orthodontist. The first 2 doctors I saw were Dentists.
Treatment: She does NOT want to give me invisalign. Instead, she wants me to wear clear braces for 18 months. She says that clear braces would not only straighten out my teeth, but they would correct my bite. She would make room to straighten my teeth by widening the arch in my mouth, no teeth shaving or tooth removal. She also stated that if I went with Invisalign, that my teeth would probably revert to the way they are now. She also stated that she would have to put a permanent retainer behind my front teeth after treatment ends.
Duration: Clear Braces 18 months ----- Invisalign 12 months approx.
Price: A whopping $6,000 for Invisalign or Clear Braces
Doctor 4:
Incredibly hot guy, with a fabulous ass!! Va-Va-Va-Voom!!!!!! His initial consultation was the most thorough of ALL the dentists thus far. He took x-rays and did a small exam. He is an Orthodontist as well.
Treatment: He gave me several options, which I liked! Option 1: Correct my overbite with Invisalign. Option 2: Clear braces, this option has 2 different paths. Path 1: Remove 2 teeth to make room for my front teeth to be straightened out. Path 2: Shave a bit off each of my teeth to make room for my front teeth. At the end of treatment I would clear Invisalign like retainers at night.
Duration: Clear Braces - 18 Months ------ Invisalign 12 months approx.
Price: $5,100 - With some excellent payment options!!
I was walking out of my office building the other day and this is what I saw...
I'll have to try this the next time I need a nappy nappy at work....
I am gearing up to straighten out a couple of my teeth. So I have been talking to dentists and orthodontists regarding my teeth and Invisalign. I have spoken to 2 dentists and have 4 more consultations scheduled for Invisalign. Here is the consensus thus far...

Ok, my friend told me about a situation she is having at work, I was going back and forth whether or not I should blog about it, but I decided to go ahead, it'll be a lesson for all of us. I never deny my public a chance to learn!!
My friend told me she found out that her boss wrote an unfavorable email about her to a co-worker. She doesn't mind very much, people fuck up all the time, it was just her turn to fuck up. But the thing that really pisses her off is that her boss wrote this email to one of her co-workers, and to boot this co-worker is not even a full time employee, she's a freakin' contractor for the company. What to do...what to do???
Her boss is out on vacation, she will be back on Monday, she'll have to take this up with her at that point in time...
At that time I will update of of you on the results...
So, here's the 411. I started dating this guy last month, let's call him Maytag Man or MM for short.
Our first date was great, great conversation, smart fella, easy to talk to and cute to boot!! We went for Sushi and drinks.
Our second date was 2 weeks later and went just as well if not better than outr first date. We went and saw Gipsy Kings at Ravinia, we danced and hung out with my friends Zhaleh & Yuriy. The weather wasn't very cooperative, but it made the night all that more interesting. You can tell a lot about people in semi-adverse situations. I saw no indications that he was displeased about the semi-rain out. Our second date was just over a month ago. Two days later I left for Greece for 4 weeks, as you may have previously read on my blog.
Now, I've been back for a couple of days now, and Maytag Man and I spent the whole weekend together. He came over on Friday night, we went dinner, then came back to my house to watch a movie. We hadn't planned much because I am still quite jet lagged. On Saturday, we decided to spend the day together. The morning started off with coffee at my local Starbucks, then we headed to Chicago to hang out at Lincoln Park Zoo. Yesterday was the perfect Zoo day. Spent time looking and talking about the animals and really getting to know each other. We walked through the zoo and came upon the lagoon where you can rent paddle boats. We rented a paddle boat and paddled around the lagoon for a while. It was really a terrific day!!
After the zoo, I took him to my turf. We went to Greek Town for a late lunch/early dinner. Maytag Man had never had Greek food before, so I decided I needed to take care of that. You can't date this Greek girl and not have ever eaten Greek food.
All in all, I had a great weekend with Maytag Man. I look forward to spending more time with him and getting to know him better.
Yes, people I am back for your entertaining pleasure. I am not at all very coherent at this point as I am still quite jet lagged, but I am here to update you all on my recent European adventure. First and foremost, as per my last blog, I have cut down on my use of profanity, immensely! It helps being away from work!
My vacation went very well!! I didn't do a whole lot, just hung out with the family and went to the beach. My mother did a bit of corruption, as if I wasn't corrupt enough, she took me on some fig and orange "acquiring" adventures. (Videos below!) We raided fig and orange trees on other people's property. Of course, my mother knows these people and they don't mind if we help ourselves the a few pieces of fruit! Other than that, my vacation went smoothly.
There are some observations that I made while I was over there, and made note of that I will comment on in future blogs. So stay tuned!!
I have a problem!! Yes, people, I have a big problem. They say the first step to recovery is realizing you have a problem. So, I'm coming out to all 3 of my readers. I have a foul mouth!! Foul, foul, foul!!! I use words like....
Heifer
Douche Bag
Cocksucker
How do I put this word delicately...C U Next Tuesday
Fuck
(Mother) Fuckers
Sons a Bitches
etc...
So, here is my plan...I am leaving for vacation tomorrow and I am going to try and lay off the first 4 words on my list while I am away. Then, hopefully I can ween myself off the rest of these words and use them sparingly. I can do this!! I majored in English for fuck sake!! (remember this foul fast starts tomorrow, well maybe not tomorrow, but the day after)
Good luck to me!!
The panic is now starting to set in. I leave for Greece in a few days and I am starting to freak outa bit. I always get a little panicky before a trip and this is the point where I start to get tripped out. Here are my worries...
Let's address these concerns one at a time. Ok, I do not live alone, but I live with my brother who doesn't take care of shit!!! Last year when I came home from my trip, he didn't cut the grass the whole time, didn't pay any bills and didn't do anything around the house. I came back to a complete fucking mess!!
Next, my "old man." He's a poor guy that needs a bit of attention. God knows my brother won't even look at him, so I've enlisted the help of a friend to come by every 2 days and make sure he's alive, feed him, clean his litter and play with him a bit!!
Next it's always a bit nerve-racking to be gone for so long, and to be taking such a long trip. But I have to keep concentrated on the reward of seeing my parents and lounging on the beach for the next few weeks.
Good times...
In the last 3 or 4 months, I have had pregnancy news from several of my friends...
Congrats to the gals!!
Meg baby #2
Cheryl baby #1
Heather baby #1
Georgia baby #1
Jodie baby #2
P.S. (Mental Note) Stay away from the water...unless well, you know...
So, finally, I am confirmed!! August 21 to September 17. I am officially on my way to Greece for 4 weeks!! WOOOHOO!! I can smell the sea air already. Lazy days lounging on the beach and cool evenings sipping whiskey!!
Ok, I really love working in the city!!
Today, I was walking to the train, going home, and I saw 3 homeless gentleman were practicing their golf swing.
Hmmmm....
Mental note...I have to be quicker with the camera!!

It's Coming...It's Coming...
Have you seen the episode of Seinfeld where Jerry dates the woman with "man hands"? Or one of the many episodes where Elaine wears the funky socks?
Well, here it is Sunday night and I wanted to update you all on my weekend activities. I had a great weekend!! I did a lot of different things and I wanted to let all my adoring fans in on the fun!! Firstly, Friday night I went out with the girls for a lovely Sushi dinner at Butterfly Sushi Bar & Thai Restaurant. I was my first ever foray into eating sushi at a restaurant. I thought it was wonderful!!
Saturday, was Harry Potter day!! It is a tradition for my friend Jodi and I to see every Harry Potter movie together, so we had plans to go Saturday night and see the movie. Also, in town promoting the Harry Potter movie was Oliver and James Phelps (they play Fred and George Weasley in the HP films) they were signing autographs at a theater near my home so, I trekked out to the theater where I waited 2 hours in line to pay $20 for the boys to sign my copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I think it was well worth it, yes, a little crazy, but I wanted something to "authentic" so to speak. Here are some pics from the book signing.
(that's my book he's signing)
After the book signing, I went over to my friend Jodi's and we went and saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. The movie was wonderful!! What I am really waiting for is the seventh book due out next Saturday!! You (the reader), must be thinking that I'm a little obsessed, yes, I am a bit obsessed, but it's a healthy obsession!! This, too, shall pass!! Today was yet another wonderful day!! I went out to a place called Goose Lake were my friend Celisa and her husband had been camping for the weekend. We went swimming, did some fishing and hung out and drank beers!! It was totally fun and very beautiful!! Here are some pics of the lake.
(this was the first fish I ever caught, but don't worry, I threw him back!)
This week I am going to get a fishing license and pole and make my entrance into the fishing world legal!! HA!!!
Tonight when I was on the train coming home, listening to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on my iPOD (refreshing my memory/gearing up for the movie), I was disturbed by the girl sitting next to me. She was wriggling in her seat and she became all fidgety. When I looked out the window and saw the horizon, I knew why. The sky directly northwest of us was completely black. I took off my earphones and told the girl that it was no big deal and that it was just a cloud. Well, minutes later we were engulfed by the blackness and it was raining buckets. She wasn't comforted.
This time of year is great for the storm lovers! Although, it is traditionally not storm season, the weather has been awesome. I love thunder storms!! So, I was sitting here at my computer and I turned around and looked outside and saw a purple sky. I immediately went outside and took some shots for you all!!
Enjoy...(these pics have not been photoshopped!)
